Job Shadow Registration is Open for Area High School Students

Job Shadow Opportunities for Area High School Students

Kirkwood Community College Workplace Learning Connection’s job shadow and internship experiences are great ways for high school students to begin planning for their future.

Job shadows are 2-4 hour opportunities with local employers that give students a chance to explore a career field and connect classroom learning to real world work. Job shadows are open to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors.

Internships are 45-90 hours in length and they give the student the chance to get a more in-depth look at a specific career. Students are able to make valuable connections, learn employability skills and earn high school credit for their internship. Current high school sophomores and juniors are eligible to apply.

Both job shadow and internship experiences are free and available for students in Benton, Cedar, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn and Washington County.
